ENVIRONMENTAL RECOVERY
Preserving the environmental quality of CENIBRA’s forests and lands ensures the sustainability of its business. By adopting this vision, the Company has been engaged in an Environmental Recovery Program that comprises enrichment by planting native species seedlings, erosion control, removal of invasive species, and leaf-cutting ant and weed control. The ultimate goal is to preserve and enhance the environmental quality of native forests. Such works’ core focus is the permanent preservation areas, which directly contribute to maintaining the quality and volume of water produced in these areas. In the past decade alone, such works were carried out over an area of approximately 16,000 hectares of Legal Reserves, Permanent Preservation Areas, and other areas of biodiversity conservation, totaling more than 600,000 seedlings of 40 different native species from the Atlantic Forest Biome.
Such actions are planned to improve the environmental quality of CENIBRA properties, which is a fundamental condition to increasing fauna and flora biodiversity, protecting water resources, and enhancing the resilience of the Company’s planted forests.
