When celebrating its fiftieth anniversary, CENIBRA presents its Strategic Sustainability Plan, called “BioSustentação”. Focused on the commitment to the future, people, sustainability, and transformation, BioSustentação brings together the Company’s long-term commitments from the environmental, social, governance, economic, and innovation standpoints.
Furthermore, BioSustentação renews CENIBRA’s strategic guidelines. Its new mission is to provide society with valuable products and solutions from sustainable forests. In doing so, the Company meets the needs of the present and contributes to the preservation of the future. Its vision is to be a transformative company through sustainability practices and recognized as a benchmark in the marketplace.
The new values, in turn, guide each step to be taken: advancement in diversity and commitment to being an inclusive organization; truth, respect, and transparency in all interactions, establishing solid trustful relationships with employees, partners, and customers; respect for human rights as a nonnegotiable commitment; innovation as an intrinsic part of its culture; working with safety, quality, dependability, and competitiveness in mind so that products and services meet the highest standards; and seeking a positive impact on financial results, the environment, and the community within its areas of activity.
We live primarily by conserving – every day, we exercise care for the environment, for groundwater and waterways, and for the forests we plant and preserve. Our 105,000 hectares of conserved native forests and preservation initiatives, such as the 33-year-old Mutum Project, set us apart as allies of flora and fauna. Biodiversity is a key factor when it comes to countering and mitigating the effects of climate change.

CENIBRA held an event with the presence of managers and mentors from its Continuous Improvement and Innovation Program to introduce BioSustentação in early October. The presentation was led by Sandro Morais, Sustainability advisor. Among the new topics on the strategic agenda are attention to climate change; territorial development of the communities where the Company operates; and digital transformation.
To explore this sustainability environment and its challenges and opportunities, the Sustainability Advisory area also brought external perspectives into the event. In this sense, two speakers were invited: strategic consultant and businessman Ricardo Guimarães emphasized the need for leadership committed to change and the Company’s sustainable growth, and journalist Sonia Consiglio, who has played a significant part in the sustainability segment for over 20 years, pointed out how companies of the future need to be attentive to environmental, economic, and governance practices.
