CENIBRA invests in commute excellence for workers in forestry activities 1x2q6s

CENIBRA’s new bus model developed in partnership with Vix and Marcopolo resulted in employee satisfaction

CENIBRA has invested in the standardization of its commuting system to provide greater safety, comfort, and well-being to forestry workers. In partnership with Vix and Marcopolo, a groundbreaking vehicle model was developed for commuting workers in rural areas.

The new buses will be used to transport around 3,000 people daily who work in 80 tree harvesting sites spread across 54 municipalities in Eastern Minas Gerais. Every detail was designed with worker satisfaction in mind.

“CENIBRA is pioneering this kind of commute. These buses were built specifically for the countryside, which shows the Company’s concern with valuing its employees,” explained Márcio Reis, Forestry manager at CENIBRA.

Forestry workers welcomed the introduction of the new buses, which have been operating on all work sites since October 26. “It was too hot inside the previous vehicles. Now, the buses are air conditioned, which helps a lot. I have peace of mind and can sleep and rest until I get to my workplace,” said Daniel Fortunato, a forestry worker.

The buses are equipped with air conditioning, cushioned reclining seats, and curtains on all windows, among other amenities. “This models of bus has a differentiated ground clearance to cope with the road conditions. It also has retractable steps at the front door, which provides engers with safer access,” said Josiane da Silva Conte, Marcopolo’s Product Engineering coordinator.

When hiring drivers for the new vehicles, Vix prioritized those employed by CENIBRA’s previous service providers, thus maintaining their jobs and income.

The new vehicles’ robustness and reliability are significant differentiators. “We needed to develop special equipment for better performance, greater operational availability, and more comfort to CENIBRA employees,” Alexsandro Teixeira Borgo, Operations manager at Vix, pointed out.

From CENIBRA’s standpoint, more than investing in a new bus model, the Company sought to further value the people it transports daily. Providing safer, more comfortable commute conditions to people was the successful outcome of this partnership.
