On January 24, around 800 people walked or ran on behalf of their own health at the opening event of CENIBRA’s Well-Being Campaign at the industrial plant in Belo Oriente (MG). From January to April, the Quality of Life Program will promote numerous internal actions to encourage a healthier life. Three more editions of the Race and Walk, in addition to discussion groups, lectures, individual consultations, and other dynamics focused to employees, are on the 2025 schedule.
In the month dedicated to raising mental health awareness, the Company welcomes its employees to build a full life together. This involves seeking a delicate balance among mental, physical, social, and financial health. Group and individual assistance will be provided by health professionals and financial education specialists, who will provide guidance on modern life issues, such as emotional health, gambling addictions, and personal finance. Employee participation is voluntary.
Professionals will encourage participants to share personal experiences and reflect on how mental health affects personal and professional life during discussion groups. “We seek to provide a welcoming environment for open dialogue, where people feel comfortable seeking help and dealing with emotional challenges,” psychiatrist Thiago Xavier, who is part of the campaign’s team of specialists, points out.
The four-month Well-Beng Campaign has an extensive program focused on the employee’s overall health. It is also a time for CENIBRA to strengthen the importance of active care and protection of physical integrity in the workplace. And outside of it as well.
“At CENIBRA, safety is a non-negotiable value, and we stand by our motto: “If something cannot be done safely, don’t do it!,” says Jadson Dias, who took over as CENIBRA’s Human Resources manager this month. In his opening speech for the campaign, Dias linked quality of life improvement actions to the construction of a safe, healthy, inclusive, and inspiring work environment. “To achieve this, everyone’s participation is a must”, Dias stresses.
The Well-Being Campaign will be held at the Factory in Belo Oriente (state of Minas Gerais) and the regional forestry units in Guanhães and Nova Era (MG). The campaign ends on April 30th with the second edition of the Race and Walk, in celebration of Workers’ Health Day.
Run: Encouragement is working!
A traditional happening since 2004, the Race and Walk at CENIBRA is one of the program’s highlights, attracting more participants year in, year out. Intended solely for employees and service providers’ personnel, the event enhances socialization, mutual , and the bonds among employees through the practice of sports.
A number of training groups have been spontaneously created by participants to continue exercising together and participating in regional and state sports events. Encouragement leads to results.
Eberson Costa, safety and fire prevention supervisor, reinforces the positive impact of running, which goes far beyond the corporate environment. “The Quality of Life Program is an excellent initiative. I’ve been participating since 2014 and the outcome has been more energy to carry out my daily activities, both at work and with my family,” Eberson says.
