About CENIBRA Institute
Created in 2002, CENIBRA Institute believes that every company should enhance its actions in society and take responsibility for changes aiming at the collective well-being. It prioritizes the integrated development of the 54 municipalities in which it operates by taking actions in line with the geographic dispersion of its territorial base, the Human Development Index (HDI), and the communities’ economic specificities and cultural identity.
It has been recognized as a Public Utility entity by the Federal Government since 2008, which gives it the possibility of exemption from the employer’s contribution to the Social Security and makes it eligible for subsidies and aid from the Federal Government and its agencies.
In addition to using the Human Development Index (HDI) to orient its actions, CENIBRA Institute also adopts the Social Responsibility Index of Minas Gerais (SRI-MG) as a parameter, released by Fundação João Pinheiro, Belo Horizonte, and encoming all municipalities in the state of Minas Gerais. The SRI-MG contains indicators relative to health, education, public safety, social welfare, environment, housing, culture, sports, tourism and leisure, income and employment, and municipal finance. All the Institute’s actions take into consideration the local cultural and economic characteristics.
